At McConnell Environmental Consulting (MEC), we believe in providing our clients with clear and straightforward pricing. Project costs may vary depending on the scope of work, number and type of samples collected, laboratory analyses required, project location, reporting requirements, and requested turnaround time.
The pricing below represents MEC's standard pricing for many residential and smaller environmental investigations. Larger, commercial, specialized, or unusually complex projects may require a project-specific proposal.
Standard Service Pricing
Asbestos Testing – $600
Standard asbestos testing starts at $600 and includes:
If more than 10 samples are required, additional samples are charged at:
$50 for each additional group of up to 3 samples.
For example, a project requiring 13 asbestos samples would generally be $650, before any applicable rush laboratory or expedited reporting charges.
Certain specialized asbestos analyses, including point counting, TEM analysis, air monitoring, clearance testing, or other non-standard analytical methods, may be subject to separate pricing.
Lead Testing – $600
Standard lead testing starts at $600 and includes:
If more than 10 samples are required, additional samples are charged at:
$50 for each additional group of up to 3 samples.
For example, a project requiring 13 lead samples would generally be $650, before any applicable rush laboratory or expedited reporting charges.
Projects involving lead dust wipes, soil samples, risk assessments, clearance examinations, specialized sampling, or additional analytical requirements may require separate pricing.
Mold Air & Tape Sampling – $800
Standard mold testing starts at $800 and includes a combination of up to 5 mold air and/or tape samples, as appropriate for the investigation.
This generally includes:
Each sample collected beyond the initial five is an additional:
$50 per sample.
The appropriate number and type of mold samples will depend on the size of the property, areas of concern, observed conditions, and objectives of the investigation.
Other Environmental Services
MEC provides a variety of additional environmental consulting, inspection, testing, and sampling services that cannot be accurately priced using a standard fee because the scope of each project can vary considerably.
These services include, but are not limited to:
For pricing on these or other environmental services, please contact McConnell Environmental Consulting directly by phone or email. We will be happy to discuss your project and provide pricing based on the specific scope of work.
Payment
Payment terms will be provided with each proposal, estimate, or invoice. Unless other arrangements have been made in advance, payment is due in accordance with the terms stated on the applicable invoice or proposal.
MEC accepts multiple forms of payment, including:
Credit card payments may be subject to an additional processing fee as identified on the applicable invoice.
For certain residential or expedited projects, payment may be required prior to release of the final report or other project deliverables.
Standard Laboratory Turnaround Time
Laboratory turnaround time and MEC report preparation time are separate.
Standard laboratory turnaround times vary depending on the type of analysis being performed and laboratory availability. Typical standard laboratory turnaround may range from approximately 5 to 10 business days, depending on the analytical method and laboratory workload.
Some specialized analyses may require additional time.
Standard MEC Report Turnaround – 5 Business Days
Once all applicable laboratory results have been received, MEC's standard report preparation turnaround time is approximately 5 business days.
This time allows MEC to review the laboratory results, evaluate them in conjunction with observations made during the site investigation, prepare the appropriate tables and supporting documentation, conduct quality control review, and finalize the report.
The 5-business-day reporting period generally begins after MEC has received all necessary laboratory results and information required to complete the report.
Clients requiring a report sooner may request expedited reporting, subject to availability and the additional fee described below.
Expedited MEC Reports – 1 to 2 Business Days
Laboratory rush turnaround and MEC report turnaround are separate services.
MEC's normal report preparation period is approximately 5 business days following receipt of the final laboratory results.
Clients who require a completed MEC report within approximately 1–2 business days after receipt of the final laboratory results may request expedited report preparation for an additional:
$75 expedited reporting fee.
This fee covers prioritizing the project ahead of MEC's standard reporting schedule and preparing and reviewing the report on an expedited basis.
The expedited reporting fee does not include laboratory rush charges. If a client requests both expedited laboratory analysis and expedited MEC reporting, both charges will apply.
Expedited report preparation is subject to MEC availability and should be requested as early as possible.
Rush Laboratory Testing
MEC understands that environmental testing is often associated with real estate transactions, construction schedules, renovation projects, regulatory deadlines, or other circumstances where results are needed quickly.
Rush laboratory analysis is available for many types of testing. Rush testing is subject to additional laboratory charges, and the cost will depend on the analytical method, number of samples, laboratory availability, and how quickly results are required.
Depending on the analysis and laboratory availability, turnaround options may include:
The faster the requested turnaround time, the greater the laboratory rush charge. Rush pricing can vary substantially between analytical methods and laboratories.
MEC will communicate applicable rush charges to the client before submitting samples for expedited analysis whenever practicable.
Rush turnaround times are subject to laboratory availability and cannot be guaranteed until confirmed by the laboratory. Sample delivery time, weekends, holidays, laboratory capacity, sample condition, and analytical method may affect availability.
Important Pricing Information
The prices listed above represent standard pricing and may not apply to every property or project.
Factors such as property size, travel requirements, number of areas being evaluated, regulatory requirements, unusual site conditions, specialized analytical methods, additional sampling, commercial or industrial properties, and project complexity may affect the final cost.
Any significant changes to the anticipated scope of work will be discussed with the client whenever practicable before additional work is performed.
Questions About Pricing, Payment, or Rush Testing?
