Alec McConnell is an environmental professional with a strong background in environmental site assessment, soil and groundwater investigation, and hazardous materials testing, including lead and asbestos. Alec has worked extensively across California on projects involving redevelopment, environmental compliance, and regulatory coordination with agencies such as the DTSC, Regional Water Quality Control Boards, US Fish and Wildlife, National Park Service, the EPA, and others.
Before founding McConnell Environmental Consulting (MEC), Alec spent years working on complex environmental projects ranging from school district assessments to large-scale brownfield redevelopment sites. His experience in both field operations and technical reporting shaped his belief that environmental consulting should be not only precise and compliant — but also clear, efficient, and client-focused.
Through MEC, Alec continues his mission to provide reliable, science-based environmental solutions that protect public health, support responsible development, and uphold the highest standards of environmental integrity.
At McConnell Environmental Consulting (MEC), we believe environmental work is more than collecting data — it’s about understanding the story behind every site. From historic rail yards to neighborhood schools, every project has its own challenges, and we approach each one with precision, curiosity, and a commitment to doing what’s right for both our clients and the environment.
Our field experience, hands-on approach, and scientific integrity set us apart. We strive to build strong, lasting relationships with our clients — partnerships built on trust, transparency, and collaboration. By working closely together, we tailor our services to meet each client’s unique needs, ensuring every project is handled with the highest level of care, communication, and technical excellence.
